Telugu superstar Prabhas is thrilled about the opportunity to share screen space with Bollywood star Deepika Padukone in the upcoming sci-fi extravaganza Kalki 2898 AD, which was earlier known as Project K. He recently revealed that he always wanted to work with Deepika while highlighting the fame that she enjoys on the global stage

“She’s the biggest superstar, the most beautiful lady and she’s already famous globally. I think she’s doing Louis Vuitton, TAM AdEX and the biggest international commercials. So, she’s just vibrant when she comes into the set, and I always loved her. I wanted to work with her, this is the first time I’m working with her, so yeah," Prabhas told Screen Rant Plus.

Deepika's presence in Kalki 2898 AD will expand the movie's reach across the world. She made her Hollywood debut in 2018 with XXX: Return of Xander Cage. She played the love interest of the movie's lead, essayed by Vin Diesel. And she is also an active member of SAG-AFTRA, which is short for Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. That's the reason Deepika skipped the film's launch at the San Diego Comic-Con last month . As a member of SAG, she refrained from taking part in film promotions in solidarity with the ongoing writers' guild protest in the USA. The work stoppage that has been going on for several months now has brought Hollywood almost to a standstill.

Earlier this year, Deepika also shined at the Oscars, when she introduced Telugu global hit RRR before the smash hit dance anthem Naatu Naatu was performed at the event.

The filmmakers just revealed a glimpse of Deepika's action-packed avatar . “We still have to see Deepika’s character fully, and then we will probably understand the reason why we cast her because she is an important character," said director Nag Ashwin, while discussing Deepika's character.

Besides Prabhas and Deepika, the movie also stars Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles.
