Kannada filmmaker Prashanth Raj is directing the untitled project
Tanya Hope and Santhanam
It looks like Tanya Hope, who made a notable debut in Kollywood with Arun Vijay-starrer Thadam (streaming on MX Player and Jio Cinema), is signing back-to-back projects in Tamil. She was cast as one of the lead roles in multi-starrer comic caper Golmaal, which also has Jiiva, Shiva and Payal Rajput essaying lead roles in it.
Now, after the completion of the film, she has signed another movie which will have her share screen space with Santhanam. Billed as a comedy, the movie will have Sandalwood director Prashanth Raj at the helm. The untitled film is expected to go on floors later this month.
According to a report in TOI, Tanya is elated to join her second comedy film in Tamil after Golmaal. It is the comfort factor with the genre which helped her say yes to the project. She said, "I think the experience of having worked in Golmaal will come in handy while I start shooting for my new movie. Moreover, I feel the world needs humour now.”
The makers are planning to commence shooting in Thailand, after which a few crucial portions will be shot in and around Chennai. The actress had wrapped up shooting for her project, Vallan, with Sundar C as well. The crime thriller, the teaser of which was unveiled recently, is likely to release soon.
She also has Kulasami which has her paired opposite Vemal. Its shooting was wrapped up a while ago. Tanya added that her plan is to be part of films that belong to various genres.
Meanwhile, Santhanam, who was last seen in Sabhaapathy (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), has Manoj Beedha's Agent Kannayiram in his kitty. The movie is the official remake of Tollywood film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya.
