Gautham Menon is planning to make a sequel to Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu,
Kamal Haasan
Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu is one film which is special for fans of Kamal Haasan in many ways. The movie, which was released in 2006, ended up as one of the highest earning Tamil films of the year. It had Kamal playing a stern, intelligent cop who takes on a couple of dreaded psycho killers.
The project was helmed by Gautham Menon; it was lauded for its grand making style, engaging screenplay, action choreography by Stun Siva and effective background score and songs by Harris Jayaraj. This was the last film in which Kamal sported a khaki.
The super hit movie is likely to get a sequel and none other than Gautham himself confirmed the same in a recent interaction. The filmmaker has revealed that he has already completed writing 120 pages of script for the second installment of the action thriller.
He revealed, "I hope the sequel will materialize at the proper time. I'm now working on the last 30 minutes of the sequel. I'm aware of the fact that Kamal sir is busy now. If he agrees, we might commence the project soon. I'm considering this as my next project."
The director's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is slated for a theatrical release on September 15. The release of his long-pending projects, Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha and Dhruva Natchathiram, still looks uncertain, though. Meanwhile, he is also part of a few projects as an actor.
Kamal, on the other hand, is all set to join Shankar's Indian 2, the much-expected Tamil sequel. He will collaborate with Mahesh Narayanan's untitled movie after the completion of Indian 2. He is said to be teaming up with Vetri Maaran and Pa Ranjith, too. Among all his forthcoming films, the most-awaited one is Vikram 2 which is expected to go on floors in 2023.
