Porattu Nadakam teaser: Saiju Kurup starrer has a satirical tone

Porattu Nadakam directed by Noushad Saffron is an upcoming satire film starring Saiju Kurup in the lead role. Now, the makers of the film have released a teaser of the film bankrolled by Emirates Production and Media Universe. Porattu Nadakam is a traditional art form in Northern Kerala. Malayalam cinema has been actively exploring the culture of Northern Kerala through various films recently, including Thinkalazchcha Nischayam and Nna Thaan Case Kodu.

In the teaser, a man is shown protesting in front of a cooperative bank, with an ambulance parked beside him. He accuses the bank of mishandling his money and mistreating him. The man emphasizes that he does not have any political affiliations. The teaser hints at the bank facing a potential raid due to an alleged scam. Later, a theatrical performance is shown, where one character asks about the name of the play and the response is given as 'Porattu Nadakam.'

Based on the teaser, it appears that the film is a satirical commentary on recent socially relevant events in Kerala. Specifically, some cooperative banks in Kerala have been in the news due to scams that have occurred within them. There have also been allegations of political involvement in these scams, which may explain the political references in the teaser's dialogue.

Suneesh Varanad, known for writing films such as Eesho starring Mohanlal and Jayasurya, has written Porattu Nadakam. Apart from Saiju, Porattu Nadakam cast also includes Rahul Madhav, Nirmal Palazhy, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Sunil Sukhada, Anil Baby, and Chithra Shenoy. The technical team comprises Noushad Shereef and Rajesh Rajendran as cinematographer and editor, respectively.
