Por OTT release: THIS streaming platform bags the post-theatrical rights of Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayaram's campus action drama

Por, the recently released Tamil film starring actors Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayaram in the lead roles, is currently running in theatres and will be available for post-theatrical streaming on Netflix. Directed by filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar, Por is a Tamil-Hindi bilingual and released as Dange in Hindi with different set of cast members.

Netflix bags Por

Por released in theatres on March 1. The film is a campus-bound action drama that concentrates on various pertinent topics riddling the lives of youngsters. While the film is currently running in theatres, it will be available on streaming platform Netflix after its theatrical run. However, it is expected that the film will be available after a minimum of four weeks since its release, like in most cases. Netflix is expected to make the announcement of the same in the coming weeks.

Por was released in Hindi as Dange. Actors Harshvardhan Rane and Ehan Bhatt took up the lead roles. It is to be noted that Por marks Bejoy’s comeback to theatres after seven long years since the release of his experimental anthology film Solo. In the meantime, the filmmaker has helmed series like Kaala, The Fame Game, and Sweet Kaaram Coffee, all of which released on streaming platforms.

What is Por about?

Por is set in multi-discipline Saint Martin University and revolves around two men, Prabhu and Yuva who are loggerheads with each other. The film, which touches upon themes like student activism, caste, queerness, mental health, also features actors Sanchana Natrajan, TJ Bhanu, Amrutha Srinivasan, Jeeva Subramanian, Dev Ramnath, Bala Suresh Babu among others. Action-packed, Por opened to mixed reviews upon its release.

Por is written and directed by Bejoy Nambiar. However, the filmmaker has collaborated with writers, including Bejoy Nambiar, Mithila Hegde, Francis Thomas and Neil Julian Balthazar, with dialogues written by Vignesh Srikanth. T-Series and Bejoy have backed the film. The technical crew consists of editing by Priyank Prem Kumar, and cinematographers Jimshi Khalid and Presley Oscar D'Souza.
