Pooja Hegde hopes to inspire women by doing certain characters on screen

Pooja Hegde is an actor slowly forraying into cinema of all languages across India.. The actor, who was last seen alongside Prabhas in Radhe Shyam, has now said she hopes to inspire women with her roles.

In a recent interview with Bangalore Times, the actor said, “I hope I can inspire women by performing certain characters on screen. We don’t tell enough stories with women at the core, even though there are quite a few films and shows being made with women at the centre of all the action.”

The actor cited examples of Hema Mailini in Seeta Aur Geeta, Alia Bhatt in Raazi and Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman as inspiring women characters in cinema and a space she wishes to be.

Hegde also talked about crossing the language barrier and cited Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise as an example that people are ready for entertainers irrespective of the language and setting.

Hedge, who started her career with the Tamil superhero flick, Mugamoodi, has now already done movies in Telugu and Hindi as well. Having made her Hindi film debut with Mohenjo Daro, she was also seen in Housefull 4.

The actor was last seen alongside Prabhas in the period romantic drama, Radhe Shyam. The movie, however, failed to impress the viewers and received mixed reactions.

Hegde’s upcoming movies include Tamil, Telugu and Hindi language projects. The actor will be seen alongside Vijay in the highly anticipated action comedy, Beast. She will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, with Ranveer Singh in the lead.
