Ponniyin Selvan teaser: Vikram stands out, action scenes impress in this spectacular visual treat by Mani Ratnam

The most-awaited Tamil teaser of the season is here. Suriya unveiled the one-minute teaser of Mani Ratnam's magnum opus project Ponniyin Selvan. The promo video looks breathtaking in every sense, and Mani has once again proved that he is a master when it comes to beautiful shot compositions that speak many stories.

The movie features a bevy of talented actors, and the director has ensured that almost all of them get their share of screen time in the teaser. However, it is Vikram's Aditya Karikalan who stands out in the promo video, thanks to a powerful dialogue which he utters in it.

The dialogue denotes Karikalan's relationship with Nandini, the character played by Aishwarya Rai. The former becomes obsessed with alcohol and war only to forget the latter. It looks like movie lovers will be in for a treat watching both Vikram and Aishwarya sharing screen presence for the second time.

Trisha, Karthi and Jayam Ravi, too, make their presence felt, though fans must have expected more from them. The war sequences choreographed by stunt directors Kecha Khamphakdee, Sham Kaushal and Dhilip Subbarayan are a treat while cinematographer Ravi Varman has created magic with visuals. AR Rahman's background score is effective and we can't wait to watch the movie's trailer to listen to more of his creations.

Thota Tharani's sound designing, too, impresses and VFX by Sanjiv Anand Naik is neatly done. Veteran actors like Prakash Raj, Sarath Kumar, Parthiban and Jayaram appear in intriguing looks. Needless to say, film lovers are now eagerly looking forward to September 30 to witness the grand visual spectacle on screen.

Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies have jointly produced the first installment of the big budget movie which will be released in different languages.
