Ponniyin Selvan star Karthi is eager to watch Vikram Vedha, wishes success to Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan

The much-awaited Mani Ratnam directorial project Ponniyin Selvan has hit the screens today, and movie lovers in Tamil Nadu are going gaga over the period drama. One of the intriguing characters in Kalki's novel, based on which the movie is made, is Vanthiyathevan, played by Karthi in the movie.

The actor has been receiving appreciation from various quarters for his flawless depiction of the role which requires agility and effortless portrayal of emotions. Many went on to say that no other actor in his generation could have pulled off the character like he did.

He has now surprised one and all by wishing success to the team of Vikram Vedha, the Bollywood film, which has also been released today. Karthi took to his Twitter page to wish Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan who play lead roles in the gangster drama, along with the director duo Pushkar-Gayatri.

He has also expressed his desire to watch the film as soon as possible. His tweet read, "Wishing @iHrithik, #SaifAliKhan, @PushkarGayatri and team a huge success for #VikramVedha. Looking forward to watch the film soon (sic)."

Fans of the actor have been heaping praise on him for acknowledging the release of the big ticket Bollywood movie. During one of the recent promotional activities of Vikram Vedha, Hrithik, Saif and Pushkar-Gayatri were asked if they are concerned about competition from Ponniyin Selvan at the box office.

Film lovers are eager to know how much the Mani Ratnam directorial would collect on its first day of release in the Hindi box office. The team had promoted the movie in Mumbai and Delhi, and participated in the popular Kapil Sharma Show as well.
