The musician himself took to Twitter to inform about the song, which according to him is a folk track and is titled Yerumayileri. He has also posted a picture of Karthi singing the song in the studio.

His tweet read, "The first song of #sardar will be sung by our #vandhiyathevan @karthi_offl… it’s an ode to our classical theatre performances … the song is a rural folk track named #ஏறுமயிலேறி #yerumayileri (sic)." Yugabharathi has penned lyrics for the song.

Sardar, which has been directed by PS Mithran and produced by Prince Pictures, will have a box office clash with Sivakarthikeyan's Prince. The action scenes choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan is expected to be one of the highlights of Sardar which has Raashi Khanna and Rajisha VIjayan essaying female leads.

George C Williams and Antony L Ruben have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the project which has Karthi essaying dual roles after a long time. Billed as an action thriller, the movie's first single will be unveiled soon.
