The much-awaited big budget movie is the star's second outing this year,
Karthi in Ponniyin Selvan
With less than a day away from the release of Ponniyin Selvan, Tamil movie lovers, especially fans of the novel and admirers of Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Karthi and Jayam Ravi are excited to the core. The movie's first show begins as early as 5 am on September 30, and the trade is looking forward to the box office numbers.
Among all, fans of Karthi seem to be more thrilled as they now have one more reason to wait for the movie. The makers of the actor's forthcoming project Sardar have announced that the film's teaser will be screened along with Ponniyin Selvan in theatres.
Sardar is a cop drama which is slated for a theatrical release around Deepavali in October. The movie directed by PS Mithran has the star appearing in dual roles. A motion poster of the action-packed movie was unveiled more than a year ago, and its shooting was wrapped a few months ago.
Sardar will be Karthi's third outing this year after Viruman and Ponniyin Selvan. Fans of him can't ask for more as the actor has portrayed different characters in three projects.
While he depicted a village ruffian who holds a grudge against his father in Viruman, he will be seen as Vanthiyathevan, a swashbuckler in Ponniyin Selvan. Sardar will feature him in dual roles for the second time after Siruthai. As per reports, he essays the role of a father and a son in the movie.
Going by Kalki's popular novel Ponniyin Selvan, the story is told through Vanthiyathevan, and hence, Karthi's character is undoubtedly expected to be one of the biggest attractions of the multi-starrer. Film buffs have been taking to various social media platforms to express the excitement of finally watching the epic novel on the big screen.
