Director V Priya of Kanda Naal Mudhal's next is a love triangle that stars actors Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Vasath Ravi in the lead
Kanda Naal Mudhal director V Priya is all set to make a comeback with a romantic drama with Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Vasath Ravi (of Jailer) in lead roles. The film, said to be titled Pon Ondru Kanden, is a love triangle. Popular music director Yuvan Shankar Raja scores the music for this romantic drama. The makers are reportedly planning to make an official announcement about the film soon.
Interestingly, the title Pon Ondru Kanden is reportedly that of a shelved Tamil project. Originally headlined by Shivaji Ganesan, the rights for the 1974 film were initially bought by director Gautham Vasudev Menon (GVM), who had announced its remake in 2016. The film which was supposed to be helmed by Senthil Veerasamy had roped in Vishnu Vishal and Tammanaah to play the lead roles. The first-look poster for the film was also released; however, the movie got shelved.
The GVM film was touted to be a romantic comedy and was centred around a young man who aspires to become a chef, however when his father fixes his marriage with a career-oriented girl, she is not interested. Later on he is forced to seek her help, and they start a business in partnership. According to GVM, the budget went overboard after roping in the cast and crew. Although he had initially planned on revamping the project with a new cast, it never materialised.
Now, director Priya has decided to only use the title while making a completely new script that revolves around a love triangle.
