Title: The Accidental Prime Minister

Film’s story plot:
The film starts off showing the career trajectory of a young journalist named Raagini Phule. Even though she is an extremely bright and raring to go journalist, she finds herself in a situation where her career is threatened. This then, leads her to look out for a scoop across the length and breadth of everywhere.
That’s when she gets a ‘tip’ from an anonymous informer, which, then, becomes the eventual ladder to the formation of an expert panel by the government in order to investigate the mysterious death of the Lal Bahadur Shastri, the former Prime Minister of India. What happens to Raagini Phule and her career and also whether the main objective of the film gets achieved is what forms the rest of the film.

Just as when the going seems to be totally smooth for everyone, the story takes a sudden turn with the untimely passing away of Akhilesh in a road accident maliciously conducted by Sangram Singh. What happens after that is something that is beyond anyone’s imagination.

For the unversed, Bhanwari Devi happened to be a Rajasthan based auxiliary nurse. The whole world went into a tizzy when she disappeared on 1 September 2011. What happens after that is what forms the rest of the film.
