The film produced by Vels Film International will release on September 15,
Gautham Menon; Silambarasan in the film's poster
Silambarasan-starrer Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is releasing in a few hours. The movie's first show begins from 5 am in the morning on September 15. The Gautham Menon directorial marks his reunion with Silambarasan after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Acham Enbathu Madamaiyada.
Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International has bankrolled the movie which has a female lead played by Siddhi Idnani. The movie also marks her debut in Kollywood. Silambarasan's last outing in a lead role was Maanaadu which turned out to be a blockbuster, and his fans have pinned high hopes on Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu.
At an event which was held the other day, Gautham Menon made a request to fans of Silambarasan and other film lovers. According to him, makers have ensured that the trailer they released recently sums up the movie's genre and that it has set the right expectations for moviegoers.
However, he added that audiences who are watching the movie's FDFS shouldn't expect a racy entertainer. The film, he said, is the journey of its protagonist Muthu and the unanticipated incidents he faces in his life when he sets out in search of a job in Mumbai.

Gautham also asked film buffs to sleep well before going to watch the movie's first show that begins at 5 am across Tamil Nadu. Many memes and trolls have been doing the rounds on social media ever since the filmmaker made his statement.
Having said that, there are those who have been showering praise on the filmmaker for being honest about the film's slow-paced nature. Some of the Tamil movies that released this year had left cinephiles disappointed and mixed reviews appeared as soon as FDFS at 5 am were completed. All eyes are now on Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu!
