Plabita Borthakur believes the OTT platform is reshaping Bollywood. The actress, who was recently seen in ZEE5 series Sutliyan says that while there are certain people in the industry that we consider "stars," yet they may not be terrific performers.

However, she explains, when the same actor creates a web-series or acts in an OTT film, they may prove everyone incorrect with their acting abilities. She adds that a lot of material is created and consumed on OTT, which features non-star actors as well and have performed quite well.

Borthakur tells Hindustan Tiems about how the lines are blurring between cinema and OTT stars: "I believe it is happening, but it is progressing slowly." It will take time and cannot be accomplished in a single day. People learned to adapt... Everything has shifted to OTT because of Covid, including the stars."

Borthakur also says that the audience has shifted to OTT more because people are more comfortable viewing movies at home. She says very few are willing to go to theatres to see them since these movies will end up having a digital release eventually.

What's Your Status Breathe: Into the Shadows, Bombay Begums, and Sutliyan are just a handful of Borthakur’s OTT productions.
