After much wait, fans are finally getting to see the first glimpse of the liveaction film adaptation, Pinocchio. The animated musical fantasy film, directed by Robert Zemeckis, stars Tom Hanks and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth.
The film, which is adapted from the 1883 Italian book and 1940 Disney movie of the same name, revolves around a wooden puppet, who goes on an exciting quest to become a real boy. Geppetto, played by Tom Hanks, is a woodcarver who makes Pinocchio and treats him like he's just his own kid.
Walt Disney Studios released the first teaser trailer for the film today and fans can’t keep calm. In the teaser trailer, Tom Hanks is shown praying to the star to grant his request and turn Pinocchio into a real child.

The teaser trailer also includes Cynthia Erivo as The Blue Fairy, Luke Evans as The Coachman, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket, Keegan-Michael Key as "Honest" John Worthington Foulfellow, and Lorraine Bracco as Sofia the Seagull.
Pinocchio's first glimpse was posted on its Twitter account too. The film is announced as Disney+ Day 2022 and will release in India on Disney+ Hotstar on September 8.
Meanwhile, Hanks who made his OTT debut on Apple TV+ with the film Finch will also appear with Austin Butler in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis biography, which is set to be released on June 24.
