Riteish Deshmukh's Pill will stream on JioCinema from July 12
Riteish Deshmukh’s upcoming medical-drama Pill’s trailer is finally revealed. The actor is seen in the role of a deputy medicine controller in the show. This is a part of the Medicine Authority of India, which is responsible for certifying whether a medicine is safe for use. He is just another common man trying to make a living and thus, he has been bullied all his life. After seeing how the pharmaceutical companies have been playing with death, he chooses to speak up and take on a legal fight.
The trailer reveals Riteish Deshmukh as Dr. Prakash from Ghaziabad. He is working in the Medicine Authority of India. He cares about life as a whole. He is bullied in his family as well as professional life. Finally daring to speak up, he takes on a legal case against the pharmaceutical company which has been corrupting his co-workers.
Dr. Prakash’s wife bullies him stating that he dare not call her by her real name, Babita. She demands that he call her babe in the party, which is just another occasion to flaunt she has a (made-up) social status. Their child notices the same and tells Dr. Prakash that not just him but the whole colony can see the truth.

Forever Cure’s CEO, played by Pavan Malhotra, has launched a drug which is killing people. He goes on and tells Dr. Prakash that he has picked the right fight but with the wrong person.
Dr. Prakash talks about Right to Health, which is a fundamental right. Every person deserves to get safe medicine. The reason he has picked the fight, is so that people can hear his voice. “Jab tak haarenge nahi, tab tak maanenge nahi,” he is heard stating when at a low point during the case trial.
