In a recent media interaction, he recollected how Vettaikaran, starring Vijay in the lead, became a turning point in his career. The 2009 release was helmed by Babusivan who passed away in 2020. The film was the first big ticket project of Antony who rose to fame with the Naakka Mukka song from Kadhalil Vizhundhen.
He reminisced about the Varisu star attending the event of the Nakul-starrer and appreciated him for the fast-paced song which was viral among youngsters in 2008. "I didn't expect him to offer an opportunity to compose for his movie. That was a big break for me. The songs were superhit and there was no turning back," he said.
He also spoke about his second collaboration with the actor in Velayudham which was released in 2011. Though he had made up his mind to foray into acting by then, the Mohan Raja directorial, too, brought out the best of the composer.
According to Antony, he had set a deadline for himself for his acting debut and told many friends that he wouldn't be alive if he didn't make it big in acting. Later, he took up acting and headlined a few successful movies. One of the reasons which inspired him throughout the journey was the words he gave to his friends.
