It's official! Vijay Antony's social drama, Pichaikkaran 2 is all set to have its digital premiere. The film will drop on Disney+Hostar on June 16. The film marks Vijay Antony's directorial debut, and has Kavya Thapar as the leading lady.
Vijay Antony plays a dual role in the film- one of a business tycoon and the other of a beggar. The plot revolves around a millionaire Vijay Gurumoorthy (Vijay Antony) who is one of the richest men in the country.

They soon find a beggar Sathya (Vijay Antony), transplant his brain and place it in Vijay Gurumoorthy's body. Sathya in Vijay's body is now a completely transformed person and things begin to topsy turvy for Vijay's nemesis.
The film cannot be considered a proper sequel to Pichaikkaran (2016), which was helmed by director Sasi. In the film, Vijay Antony's character moonlights as a beggar for the sake of his mother's health. The film also shot to limelight after a scene in it spoke about demonetising Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, long before the Union government made the announcement. The film was well received by the audience.
However, Pichaikkaran 2 didn't have the same effect on the audience and opened to mixed reviews. The star cast includes Yogi Babu,Dev Gill, John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi, Radha Ravi, YG Mahendran, to name a few. Music and editing for the film is by Vijay Antony as well while cinematography is by Om Narayan. The film is bankrolled by Vijay Antony's home production, Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
In the meantime, Vijay Antony's Tamilarasan, too, is all set to have its digital premiere on the same day. The action drama will drop on ZEE5.
Tamilarasan has music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by RD Rajasekhar. The star cast comprises Ramya Nambeesan, Chaya Singh, Sangeetha Krish, Yogi Babu, Pandiarajan, Kasthuri, Munishkanth, Robo Shankar and child artiste Pranav Raja to name a few. Tamilarasan is bankrolled by S Kowsalya Rani under the banner SNS production company.
