Seasoned Malayalam actor Mukesh's recent film Philip's is all set to make its OTT debut soon. The film will become available for streaming on ManoramaMAX in January. However, a confirmed date for its digital premiere date has yet to be announced.

Philip's was initially released in theatres in December last year. The film garnered mostly positive reviews but that didn't help it to make a dent at the box office.

Philip's marks the directorial debut of Alfred Kurian Joseph. He co-wrote the film along with Mathukutty Xavier, the writer and director of the acclaimed film Helen (2019).

Based on the teasers and trailers, Philip's revolves around the personal struggles of a middle-aged man. Philip Abraham, played by a versatile Mukesh, seems to be suffering serious trust issues, to a degree that can be clinically diagnosed. His fears and anxiety spill over into the lives of his children, badly affecting his relationship dynamics with them.

In particular, Philip seems to be overly anxious about his young daughter as he watches and tries to control her every move with a hawk's eyes. He seems like a tyrant but we can safely assume that he only intends nothing but good for his kids. Not for nothing they say, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions."

Philip's traits and his questionable approach to parenting seem to have caused a massive rift with his daughter, a teenager going through her rebellious phase. She seems to appreciate and pursue things that are likely to antagonize her father. In return, Philip continues to push his daughter away with his old-school parenting skills, often stating how kids these days have it easy and lack gratitude.

The actual drama in Philip's seems to stem from a court case. Set against the backdrop of Bengaluru, the film seems to embody the cosmopolitan nature of the city. Various characters converse in diverse languages, such as Tamil and Kannada, highlighting the linguistic diversity within the narrative.

Philip also stars Innocent, Noble Babu Thomas and Charle among others.
