Filmmaker Aparna Malladi, who last helmed The Anushree Experiments and the web show Posh Poris, was in the news recently for her road film Pellikuturu Party. The film, starring Prince Cecil, Annapurnamma, Arjun Kalyan, Aneesha Dama, Bavana Vazhapandla and Kirrak Seeta had hit theatres on June 24. Now, the film is gearing up for its OTT premiere on the Telugu streaming app aha.
Pellikuturu Party is all set to release on aha on August 31, the streaming platform announced today. For the unversed, the film revolves around a bachelorette party. Eesha (Aneesha Dama), is getting into one messy relationship after the other, while her sister Nandini is on the cusp of marriage. Worse, Eesha ends up kissing her brother-in-law Krish as well.
The situation gets awkward and to compensate for her guilt, Eesha plans a bachelorette trip with her sister, cousins to clear the air and are also accompanied by their grandmother Kameswari (Annapurnamma). The trip takes newer twists and turns every minute. Will the women manage to escape scot-free? Pellikuturu Party is bankrolled by A V R Swamy under Pruthvi Creations.
The supporting cast comprises Jayatri Makana, Pavan Suresh, Saiketan Rao, Charan Lakkaraju, Shining Phani and Rajesh Villu. Naren Elan is the cinematographer of the film while C/O Kancharapalem, Middle Class Melodies fame Sweekar Agasthi is the music director. Dharmendra Kakarala and Vara Prasad are the editor and the costume designer respectively.
The crew includes Suresh Somireddy (sound designer of Dhwani Studios), Rabin Subbu (action director), Rachel Varma (production designer), and Vishwa Raghu (choreographer). Pushpa Bhaskar is the casting director. “The situations in Pellikuturu Party can be wacky but the way people talk or behave is set very much in the realistic zone,” said Aparna Malladi while discussing the film in an earlier chat with OTTplay.com.
