What is Pawankhind’s story about?
Pawankhind revolves around the story of the Battle of Pavan Khind, a significant rearguard last stand in Marathi history that took place on July 16, 1660. The battle took place between Maratha Warrior Baji Prabhu Deshpande and Siddi Masud of Adilshah Sultanate, near fort Vishalgad in the city of Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
The film continues the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji, and follows his journey after the events that took place in Farzand(2018) and Fatteshikast(2019). Farzand tells the story of Kondaji Farzand, a general who is tasked by Shivaji to capture the Panhala fort. Fatteshikast follows Shivaji as he engages in battle with Mughal general Shaista Khan.
Who are the cast and crew behind Pawankhind?
Chinmay Mandlekar stars as Chhatrapati Shivaji, reprising his roles from Farzand and Fatteshikast. Mrinal Kulkarni essays the role of Rajmata Jijabai while Ajay Purkar portrays Baji Prabhu Deshpande. The film also features Ruchi Savarn,Prajakta Mali,Surabhi Bhave,Kshitee Jog, Madhavi Nimkar,Sameer Dharmadhikari,Ujjwala Jog and Astad Kale
Pawankhind has been written and directed by Digpal Lanjekar, who had also helmed Farzand and Fatteshikast as well. The Marathi historical drama has been produced by Almonds Creations in association with A A Films.
When and where to watch Pawankhind on OTT?
Pawankhind was released in theatres on February 18, and it reportedly collected over Rs 12 crores at the box office. The film will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from March 20 onwards.
