Well known supporting actress Pavitra Lokesh has turned a director for a devotional film that'll uncover the story behind the popular Mahakaleshwar Temple in Rajahmundry. Her actor counterpart and frequent collaborator Naresh has presented the film made under Vijaya Krishna Green Studios. Naresh and Pavitra Lokesh have also acted in the film alongside M C Vasu alongside religious guru Pattapagalu Venkata Rao. Srisripuram Kiran has penned the dialogues while Mohan Reddy is the cinematographer.

The devotional film was released in the presence of religious guru Kanchi Kamakoti Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi and other popular dignitaries at Ravindra Bharathi the previous weekend. Naresh, Pavitra Lokesh, Sri Darshan and Pattapagalu Venkata Rao were also present at the event. The event was also streamed on Mahakaleshwar Temple's Youtube channel yesterday. It's probably for the first time that Pavitra Lokesh's directorial mettle is coming to public light among Telugu audiences.

Inspired by the architecture of the Ujjain temple of the same name in North India, the film tells how the Mahakaleshwar temple was built on the banks of river Godavari under the supervision of Pattapagalu Venkata Rao in Rajahmundry. The film also showcases the beauty of a ten-foot-long idol of Lord Shiva and Durga in addition to those of other religious gurus in the temple. On the work front, Naresh had completed forty years in Telugu cinema recently and added that he's keen on producing films/shows for the OTT space.

Pavitra Lokesh had three Telugu releases the previous year, including Ardha Shatabdham, Dear Megha and Red besides Pogaru in Kannada. She made her digital debut with Tamannaah Bhatia's Telugu web show 11th Hour, playing the role of the actress' on-screen mother.
