The film, directed by Obeli N Krishna, is all set to hit screens on March 30
The much-awaited Pathu Thala trailer is finally here! Silambarasan TR, who is seen as the dreaded gangster AGR packs quite a punch in his latest avatar. The trailer opens on an interesting note where this is a discussion about the missing Chief Minister. In the meantime, it looks like everyone is up against AGR, including Gautham Menon's character, who says that he has been fighting against AGR and his sand mining business, but in vain.
There seem to be many heated moments between the two in the film. Gautham Karthik, too, is seen in an intense avatar who at the beginning doesn't seem to know who the AGR is, but later is on the lookout for him. The final scene where Silambarasan says that being cheated upon and cheats are not new to him' is whistle-worthy. STR is sure to have many mass moments in theatre with dialogues like there is no one to beat the lion in the forest.
The audio launch of the film was held amid a gala affair in Chennai. Silambarasan TR's mass entry at the auditorium, had the audience go berserk. The actor, who was all suited up and looked dapper, sported long hair tied up in a bun. Soon after his entry amid the audience, he waved at the zealous fans gathered at the venue.
The film, directed by Obeli N Krishna, has Silambarasan, Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead. The supporting cast includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Kalaiyarasan, Teejay Arunasalamm and Anu Sithara to name a few.
Pathu Thala is a remake of the hit Kannada film Mufti, which had Shiva Rajkumar, Srimurali and Sanvi Srivasatava in the lead. The film marked the debut of director Narthan and the project went on to rake in the moolah at the box office. However, director Obeli Krishna had stated that though the film is inspired by Mufti, the Tamil version will have quite a few changes as many scenes have been altered to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience.
Music for the film is by AR Rahman. After watching the teaser of Pathu Thala, Silambarasan had earlier stated that 'ARR bhai's sambavam was loading'. While the cinematography is by Farook J Basha, editing is by Praveen KL. The film is bankrolled by Studio Green.
