The movie, which has Thaneer Mathan Dinangal co-writer Dinoy Paulose in the lead, is a quirky comedy that released in theatres in March
Dinoy Paulose’s madcap comedy Pathrosinte Padappukal, which hit theatres in March, is gearing up to drop online soon. The movie, helmed by debutant Afsal Abdul Latheef, also has Sharafudheen, Naslen Gafoor and Johny Antony in pivotal roles.
The comedy revolves around Pathrose and his sons. Pathrose, essayed by James Eliya, has three sons and a daughter. His eldest son Sony, played by Sharafudheen, is a carefree vagabond while his youngest Bony is a thief. So, he pins all his hopes on Tony, essayed by Dinoy. However, much to his chagrin, Tony too prefers to while away his time and live life without any burdens. His life though is forced to change when he falls in love with his neighbour. Will he carry on with his indolent ways or prove he is capable to being a responsible husband?
While it’s Dinoy’s first lead role, the film has an array of actors playing supporting roles including Kumbalangi Nights’ Grace Antony, Suresh Krishna, Ranjitha Menon and Shiny Zara. The film also benefits from Naslen’s comedy as a young thief.
The movie will drop on ZEE5 on June 10. Earlier this year, ZEE5 had also procured the streaming rights for coming-of-age comedy drama Super Sharanya as well as Asif Ali’s Kunjeldho. The platform also began streaming Asif Ali’s Ellam Sheriyakum and Indrajith Sukumaran’s sports drama Aaha in January.
Pathrosinte Padappukal is the latest announced Malayalam film to hit OTTs in June. Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Jana Gana Mana recently dropped on Netflix. Asif Ali and Nimisha Sajayan’s Innale Vare is set to drop on Sony LIV on June 9 while Anoop Menon’s investigative thriller Twenty One Grams will begin streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on June 10 and Mammootty’s CBI 5: The Brain will drop on Netflix on June 12.
