Gadangg Rakkamma, the first single from Kiccha Sudeep’s upcoming fantasy action-adventure flick, Vikrant Rona, is a week old, but its craze is far from dying down. The lyrical video, sung by Nakash Aziz and Sunidhi Chauhan in Kannada, Hindi and Tamil, and which is now out in all four languages, has amassed views in the millions, even though it barely has any actual video footage of the song. What has clicked with audiences is the hook step of the song that has been picturised on Sudeep and Jacqueline Fernandez and choreographed by Jaani master. Such has been the craze surrounding the song that it’s become a viral social media reel.

In the last few days, actors like Vaishnavi Gowda, Srujan Lokesh, Niveditha Gowda, Chandan Shetty, Rajeev Hanu, Hitha Chandrashekar and her dad Sihi Kahi Chandru, among others, have all done a jiggy to the hook step. Even Sudeep took to social media to present his first-ever reel as he shimmied to his own hit number. The latest to join this bandwagon is Ashika Ranganath, who was seen in a special number in Sudeep’s earlier film, Kotigobba 3, Pataki Poriyo.

When Gadang Rakkamma came out, Ashika had posted, “This song is lit 🔥Had the opportunity to watch the visuals of this song & my god @KicchaSudeep & @Asli_Jacqueline looks stunning, hook step is 👌🏻”. “Ra..raaa..rakkamma 🎶laaaaaooovvinggg it. This is for you @kichchasudeepa sir 🤗 💃 #RaRaRakkamma #VikrantRona,” she followed up, along with a video of her doing the hook step.

Vikrant Rona, produced by Shalini Artss and Invenio Origin, and directed by Anup Bhandari is set to release in 3D in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and English on July 28. The film has music by B Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematography by William David. The film also stars Nirup Bhandari and Neetha Ashok in pivotal roles.
