Parvathy Thiruvothu recently talked about the decline in female representation in Malayalam cinema in an interview with Ginger Media Entertainments. When asked what she thought about the subject, the actress said that she would prefer to use her movie as a model for how women should be represented in the industry. She asserted that there are still creators who produce films with female leads in an organic way, and these films will be released in theatres at the appropriate time.

‘The discourse is important’

Parvathy stated that, in her opinion, the industry has already won because there were no talks on the topic seven years ago, making this discourse on the subject extremely important. "I believe that the media raising these issues this time is what makes me happy. Thank you, but it is not pointed out by me or any other female from the industry this time," she said. According to the actress, this supports her belief that the media serves as the fourth pillar of justice.

She continued by saying that it is useless to point fingers at anyone. Parvathy also discussed the absence of an audition culture in our industry. She said that in order to try out different genres and characters that she has not attempted yet, she makes it a point to attend multiple auditions outside of the Malayalam industry.

Parvathy Thiruvothu’s Ullozhukku to release on June 21

The film features Parvathy Thiruvothu and Urvashi in the lead roles, and its big screen debut is set for June 21. The trailer, like the teaser that debuted last week, offers an intriguing look into a story about a family's secrets and how they affect each individual.

Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu's performances are much anticipated based on the film's one-minute teaser, even though it did not give away much about the plot or characters. Cyanide and Curry: The Jolly Joseph Case's director Christo Tomy has helmed this project. Actors Arjun Radhakrishnan, Veena Nair, and Alencier Ley Lopez have important roles in this project as well.
