The film, which is said to be the world's first non-linear single-shot film is all set to release on July 15
It looks like R Parthiban's upcoming film Iravin Nizhal (Shadow of the Night) is going places. Iravin Nizhal is said to be the world's first non-linear single-shot film and is directed by Parthiban himself, who is playing the lead in it. The film has been turning many heads at the international film festival circuit as well.
The latest we hear is that Iravin Nizhal has bagged awards at the Medusa Film Festival, Cult Movies International Film Festival (Best Cinematography) and Oniros Film Awards- New York (Best Cinematography). The film has also been nominated for the New York International Film Awards and Rome International Movie Awards. Interestingly, Iravin Nizhal has already made a place in the India Book of Records 2022 and Asia Book of Recods 2022. Parthiban had screened the trailer of the film at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
The star cast includes Parthiban, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Robo Shankar, Priyanka Ruth, Brigida Saga, Sneha Kumar, Anand Krishnan, Chandru and others. Cinematography for the film is by Arthur Wilson and editing is by Craig Mann of Whiplash fame.
Music for the film is by AR Rahman and the composer had earlier stated that it was the script of Iravin Nizhal and Parthiban's passion for filmmaking and that made him come on board. This is the first time that the duo are teaming up for a film. They were supposed to collaborate for a film titled Elelo, two decades ago, which didn't materialise. During the audio launch, Rahman had stated that Parthiban had set an example for future generations with Iravin Nizhal. The film's running time spans 100 minutes and was entirely filmed on a single shot. Iravin Nizhal is gearing up to hit screens on July 15 worldwide. Parthiban was last seen in a pivotal role in Amazon Prime Video's hit web series, Suzhal, created by Pushkar and Gayatri, and directed by Bramma and Anucharan.
