A still from Tamil Rockerz
Tamil Rockerz, directed by Arivazhagan, is a project which evoked interest among film buffs when it was announced. Its long-format nature escalated expectations as cinephiles became curious to know how the topic has been dealt with in the web series. Arun Vijay joining hands with Arivazhagan for the third time was another attraction of the project.
Tamil Rockerz, which was released on SonyLIV on Friday, has opened to mixed reviews among critics. However, many celebs have been appreciating the attempt. Actor-filmmaker Parthiban is one among them; a video of him heaping praise on the series has been unveiled by makers.
He went gaga over the makers' boldness to come up with a subject that plagued the film industry. Parthiban said, "Tamil Rockerz has utilized the freedom OTT platforms provide to long-form content. I think it needs enormous courage to make a film against pirated sites which have been posing big threat to the movie industry."
According to him, it was this courage which attracted him to the project. He said that more than narrating a big story, what becomes effective is presenting a small idea with intriguing details and heaped praise on director Arivazhagan for having pulled off the same.
He said, "I have been liking Arivazhagan's works ever since he made his debut with Eeram. It's good to see Arun Vijay bettering himself as an actor film after film. He is like my son and it gives me immense pleasure to watch him grow as an actor."
Parthiban also mentioned about a specific sequence in Tamil Rockerz which has MS Bhaskar coming up with a spectacular performance. One of the attractions for him to watch the project was that it was produced by AVM Productions, the leading production house in Kollywood.
