Less than a month after its theatrical release, Parineeti Chopra’s Saina, a biopic on ace shuttler Saina Nehwal, is set to have its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 23. The movie, which is directed by Amole Gupte, hit theatres on March 26.
Chopra said that she was thrilled that the movie would now reach out to a global audience with the release on the OTT platform. Talking about her experience working on the movie, the actor said in a statement, “I embraced each challenge, and I do think that I learnt a lot as a professional in the process. I worked on the physical appearance and the right body language, and I am glad it worked out in my favour. I had a great time working on this film.”
Vijay Subramaniam, a senior official from Amazon Prime Video, said the streaming platform was elated to release the film. “An inspiring story of a real life champion backed by Chopra’s impressive performance and Gupte’s great direction makes this film the perfect addition to our content offering,” he said.

(People have) been waiting patiently for the film to enter their homes and in these difficult times, I hope the film brings positivity and optimism to viewers,” he said.
