Renowned Tollywood actor Paran Bandopadhyay has decided to face the camera again after seven months. Playing the lead in Samik Roy Choudhury’s Beline, the veteran began shooting for the upcoming movie from July 22.

After his award-winning short film Okiagari, director Samik has started working for his Bengali project Beline, and has managed to rope in artistes such as Tathagata Mukherjee, Shreya Bhattacharya, Apratim Chatterjee and RJ Sayan.

In chat with ETimes, Samik gave us a glimpse of the plot. The story has a unique script at the crux of it, revolving around an elderly man, who accidentally receives a wrong phone call and starts overhearing the conversation of a couple in a toxic relationship. This continues for almost three days, concluding with a dramatic twist that changes the entire storyline.

Samik informed that while the script has been ready since 2015, he was waiting for the perfect opportunity. Currently, the filming of Beline is being done at Rashbehari Avenue in south Kolkata, with only a few sequences being shot outside. Most parts of the film will be filmed indoors, and all the incidents will take place in two rooms.

The title of the film Beline means derailed or wrong number in Bengali, capturing the essence of the movie, as it begins with a wrong number. Director Samik revealed that the film will first tour the different film festivals across the world and then the team will decide whether to go for a theatrical release or not.
