The award ceremony at the 13th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will take place on August 14.

Parambrata Chatterjee has been nominated in the Best Actor in Series category at the 13th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne which will take place between August 12 and 20. The award ceremony will take place on August 14 with both in-person and virtual participation. This year, there will be a screening of over 100 films across 23 languages. Meanwhile, another Bengali actress, Sreelekha Mitra, has also been nominated In the Best Actress category.

Parambrata is nominated for his work in Aranyak. Along with the actor, the lead actress Raveena Tandon has also been nominated in the Best Actress in Series category. The series has also been nominated.

“I am very happy and stoked to be among the nominations alongside very important names from the Indian film fraternity. Names like Aparna Sen, Konkana Sen and Mohit Raina are nominated at the festival,” said the actor. Mohit is nominated for Mumbai Diaries Season 1, while Parambrata is part of the Season 2 of the same series. “The shooting of the series is done and it will be released next year. I am very happy. The series is very dear to me. It’s a piece of work where I have put lots of effort and emotional investment,” he said. Besides Parambrata and Mohit, Varun Mitra is nominated for Guilty Minds, Tahir Raj Bhasin for Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein and Dhruv Sehgal is nominated for Little Things Final Season.

Two of Parambrata’s films – Ghore Pherar Gaan and Abhijaan – were recently showcased at the London Indian Film Festival. While the first one is directed by Aritra Sen and also features Ishaa Saha, the latter is a biopic based on the life of legendary actor Soumitra Chatterjee.
