Prasanna Vithanage’s masterful direction

The political and economic conditions of a country, as well as its people's struggle for survival during a crisis, are expertly addressed by Prasanna Vithanage through Paradise. Script is the film's strongest point

The movie presents a nation that deserves to be treated fairly and its people as waiting for a saviour to save them from the daily crisis they find themselves in in a beautiful yet insightful way. The film's masterful use of references to the Ramayana and its many interpretations allows viewers to delve deeply into the many intellectual aspects that have been covered in Paradise. The themes covered in Paradise are applicable not only to Sri Lanka but also to any country that is seeing its social and economic standing decline.

Impressive performances

With minimal dialogues, Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran deftly convey the lead characters' complicated emotions and inner conflicts. It is fascinating to watch Darshana, who plays the empathetic Amritha, working out the situation around her. Roshan has also done a fantastic job of capturing the frailty of a man in the midst of a serious crisis. The supporting cast, including Shyam Fernando, Mahendra Perera, Sumith Ilango, and Azher Samsoodeen, have all carried out their parts strongly, bring to life the diverse perspectives of the people of Sri Lanka.
