After Upacharapoorvam Gunda Jayan and Janaki Jaane, Saiju Kurup is back with a rustic film. In Pappachan Olivilaanu, the actor is seen as a countryman, promising to evoke several laughs.
The makers of the film recently released the trailer for the film, which promises to be a comedy entertainer. The trailer begins with a court scene, where, as an accused, Pappachan is summoned for hunting a wild buffalo.
Saiju Kurup plays the role of Pothu Pappachan in the movie. The trailer presents him as a shooter who violates forest laws. The trailer revolves around Pappachan and how his actions are monitored by the police and forest department.
The first-look poster of the film was released earlier by director Sinto Sunny on Saiju's birthday. The poster features Saiju holding a gun in one hand and a dead rabbit in the other.
Pappachan Olivilaanu is directed by Sinto Sunny, the associate of Jibu Jacob, who is known for movies like Vellimoonga and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol.
Along with Saiju, the film also stars Srinda, Vijayaraghavan, and Aju Varghese. Rumours suggest Vijayaraghavan will essay the role of Maathachan, Saiju's character's father.
Prashanth Alexander, who was recently lauded for his performance in Purusha Pretham, also plays a pivotal role in Pappachan Olivilaanu, which is slated to hit theatres on July 28, along with Dileep's Voice of Sathyanathan.
Saiju Kurup, who has been doing supporting and lead roles, recently played lead roles in Upacharapoorvam Gunda Jayan and Antakshari. His latest release was Jaanaki Jaane, in which he played a contractor. Janaki Jaane revolves around a woman, played by Navya Nair, who suffers from a panic disorder.
Saiju was also seen in Pallotty 90s Kids, which won the Kerala State Award for Best Children’s Film.
