Pappachan Olivilaanu, directed by Sinto Sunny and starring Saiju Kurup in the lead role, is now available to stream on OTT. The plot, written by Sinto, centres around the character of Pappachan (Saiju) and his tendency to boast, leading to various comical situations. The film is a comedy entertainer and was released in theatres on August 4.
What is Pappachan Olivilaanu about?
Pappachan lives in a village and has a strong desire to become a shooter like his father, Maathachan (Vijayaraghavan). But unfortunately, he lacks the necessary skills. Despite this, he boasts about achievements that he hasn't accomplished. His habit of bragging lands him in a difficult situation when he is accused of illegal bison hunting. What happens after Pappachan goes into exile after being accused in a hunting case froms the plot.

The movie attempts to emulate Biju Menon's Vellimoonga. Saiju has played characters like Pappachan several times before, so he aces his performance. Vijayaraghavan convincingly portray Maathachan through his powerful and charismatic acting. Srindaa's performance as Pappachan's wife and Prashanth Alexander's portrayal of a comical villain stand out.

According to Saiju and director Sinto, Pappachan Olivilaanu is inspired by real incidents that took place in Sinto's village . Even though the real incidents inspired the story, the makers have used cinematic liberty to add commercial elements to the film.
