When is Pappachan Olivilaanu releasing on OTT?
Pappachan Olivilaanu will be available to stream on Saina Play from September 14. Previously, the platform had bagged the OTT rights of Sreenath Bhasi’s satirical comedy Padachone Ingalu Kaatholi and the pandemic drama Njaan Ippo Entha Cheyya.

Pappachan Olivilaanu narrates the story of Pappachan, a jeep driver who is accused of bison hunting. Pappachan’s father, Maathachan (played by Vijayaraghavan), was a revered shooter in the local community. Pappachan dreams of following in his father’s footsteps and often boasts about his shooting skills, causing issues with the Forest Department.
When Pappachan is investigated by government officials after bragging about a recent shooting, he goes into exile. Srindaa plays Pappachan’s wife, while Aju essays a village character.
Despite a predictable storyline, the film entertains with its comic timing and some incredible performances by Aju, Vijayaraghavan and Saiju, among others. According to Sinto and Saiju, the story is inspired by a real-life character.

The film is an out-and-out comedy, even though the writing is a little outdated. Saiju as Pappachan will lure you with his natural acting and quirky mannerisms. Meanwhile, Vijayaraghavan’s performance as an old man who has seen it all leaves a lasting impression on the viewers. It’s a curious story about how Pappachan deals with the situation when he is accused in the case.
