Panchami will be replaced by Om Sahani’s serial

Star Jalsha’s serial Panchami had a good rating even last week and it was in the ninth position with a score of 5.7. However, according to reports, it is ending. Its last episode will be telecast on August 27. On August 28, Jusshu U Sengupta and Nilanjanaa Senguptaa’s new production, Love Biye Aajkaal, is to start in the 8.30 pm slot. The new serial features Om Sahani in the lead.

Panchami's heroine Susmita Dey shared the news with media. In an interview with Aajkaal Dot In, she confessed that she has little idea about the reason why of the closure of this serial. Susmita’s previous serial Bouma Ekghar stopped after 100 episodes. That serial failed to create any mark on the rating chart. She then returned to the small screen being the snake girl. This serial, produced by Sahana Dutta, has been getting good scores since the beginning and kept the fifth position for a long time. The supernatural story of the snake girl has been a favorite with the audience.

In the interview, Susmita said, “If there is a beginning, there will be an end. Hence, I accept it though I feel sad.” At this moment, the serial’s story progressed 30 years. Panchami is reincarnated. Her new name is Poulomi. She is not a village girl anymore, but rather an urban woman. “I felt good acting in casuals. The serial did well from the beginning to the end. Hence I have no regrets,” the actress said.
