Mrinal Kulkarni and Eisha Singh in Paithani

Mrinal Kulkarni and Eisha Singh's heartwarming tale of a mother and a daughter, titled Paithani is streaming on ZEE5. Helmed by Gajendra Ahire, the series was released today, November 15, and it revolves around the dynamics of a mother-daughter duo as they become the support system for each other. Hours after the release, the makers dropped a new poster of the series.

On November 15, ZEE5 took to their official Instagram account and dropped a new poster of Paithani. It features Mrinal Kulkarni and Eisha Singh. While Mrinal sits on a a chair, her on-screen daughter, Eisha stands besides her. Both of them are flaunting a Paithani saree.

Paithani's Cast and plot

Paithani follows the life of Godavari (Mrinal Kulkarni) an expert weaver of traditional Paithani sarees and a doting mother. Her daughter, Kaveri (Eisha Singh) strengthens her as her mother faces the end of her career. To pay tribute to her mother's legacy, Kaveri wants to give her the last saree Godavari made. Paithani enthralls the audience with powerful themes of love, sacrifice and empowerment. The film beautifully depicts the strength of family ties to overcome adversity.

Directed by Gajendra Ahira, this family web series features Mrinal Kulkarni as the doting mother, Godavari, and Eisha Singh as her daughter Kaveri. The supporting cast also stars Shivam Bhaargava (plays Vinay Bhanushali), Syed Zafar Ali (plays Nana), and Sangeeta Balachandran (plays Ganga Ajji) in prominent roles.

In an official statement, series' creator Gajendra Ahire opened up about the timeless beauty of the Paithani artistry.

"Through the journey of a mother and daughter, we explore themes of love, dreams, and the challenges they face together. Naming the show Paithani symbolizes not just the artistry of weaving but also the cherished connections that bind us. It’s a proud moment for our entire team, and we hope to inspire and connect with viewers everywhere through the timeless beauty of Paithani," he added.

On the other hand, in a statement, Mrinal Kulkarni added that portraying Godavari in Paithani is a privilege. She said that this is a powerful character that transforms her daughter into a strong woman through adversity, giving her mother the strength she needs.
