Paatal Lok 2: Jaideep Ahlawat says reprising Hathiram Chaudhary felt like 'going back home'; teases, 'Lot of things will be revealed'

Paatal Lok is one of the most loved crime thriller series on Amazon Prime Video. Much to the fans' delight, the series is coming back with its season 2. The makers have already released the trailer and it grabbed a lot of attention. Paatal Lok season 2 teases new twists, exploring migrant mysteries and dangerous drug syndicates while Jaideep Ahlawat reprises his Hathiram Chaudhary role. In a new interview, the actor opened up about reprising his character and also teased about the plot of season 2.

In an interview with The Times of India, Jaideep Ahlawat said that he didn’t feel as struggle to get back into Hathiram Chaudhary's role after a gap of 4 years.

He said, “Hathiram felt liberated by the end of season 1, he didn’t have to prove himself in front of his wife or son or colleagues. He’s more calm now and has accepted the situation. Also it wasn't difficult to go back to Hathiram as it’s a role that is very close to me, and I had a lot of memorable time with it and revisiting it was like going back home."

Jaideep Ahlawat teases about Paatal Lok 2 plot

On the other hand, in an interview with IANS, Jaideep said that Hathiram's basic quality is that he has to know the truth, whether he can do something about it or not and he is determined to know the truth. "A lot of things will be revealed in season 2," teases Jaideep. He also added that a lot of new challenges come up and it feels like the experience the character had from the old story is coming in handy.

Meanwhile, the trailer of the new season offers a tantalizing glimpse of an exciting crime thriller that pushes low-class inspector Hathiram Chaudhary into uncharted territory. Set against the backdrop of Nagaland, the trailer follows Hathiram as he teams up with his trusted aide, Imran Ansari, to fight systemic forces and social evils in his relentless pursuit of truth.
