Over 5,000 takers for KGF – Chapter 2 tickets in the UK as overseas advance booking opens

KGF: Chapter 2 opens in theatres world-wide on April 14

The global frenzy surrounding the upcoming release of Kannada cinema’s Rocking Star Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 is truly astounding. The film is set to release world-wide in theatres on April 14 in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. In the overseas market, advance bookings have already opened in select locations, one of them being the United Kingdom.

Within the first 12 hours of sales going live in the UK, as many as 5,000 odd tickets were sold for the second instalment in the KGF saga. The distributors in that market had earlier asked fans which version of the film they’d prefer to see, considering the film has a five-language release. The exact split, language-wise, remains unclear at the moment.

KGF: Chapter 2 is the second instalment in the Prashant Neel-director KGF saga, the first film having released in 2018. The film follows the story of Rocky Bhai (Yash), a Mumbai-based assassin who lands in KGF to murder the heir to the Narachi empire, Garuda (Ramachandra Raju), and becomes a saviour to the slaves at the mines. The film, which has a massive ensemble cast, including Srinidhi Shetty, Vasishta N Simha, Ayyappa Sharma, Malavika Avinash, Tarak Ponnappa, John Kokken, Achyuth Kumar, Archana Jois, Saran Sakthi, BS Avinash, TS Nagarabharana, Lakki Lakshman, etc. brings Prakash Raj, Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon into the fold for the second edition. The film has music by Ravi Basrur and cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda, two major highlights of the franchise.

Produced by Hombale Films, KGF: Chapter 2 releases along with Vijay’s Beast and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey. Yet, the makers are hopeful of releasing the Yash-starrer in as many as 6,000 screens world-wide.
