RRR is a film that needs no introduction. The Rajamouli period drama has put Indian cinema on the world map by winning the Oscar Award for best original song. MM Keeravani and Chandrabose collected the awards for this song. RRR was made on a massive budget and was high on VFX as well. Makuta VFX was the one responsible for the VFX part and they won the Best VFX Award at the recently concluded OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023 in Mumbai.

Achata Dorababu, co-heads of Makuta received the award on behalf of his team. Speaking about the award, Dorababu says "It feels really great when our hard work pays off and RRR is one film which was a huge challenge for us especially after the stupendous success of Baahubali. But with the support of Rajamouli, we gave the best output".

When asked about how Rajamouli briefed them about RRR, Dorababu says that Rajamouli had approached them way back in 2018 itself and narrated the storyline and asked to come up with various models of what kind of shots will be used when it comes to fire, water, British backdrop and forest setup. "He was very clear about what he wanted. If you see the interval bang and climax, most of the scenes were done on VFX and we are happy that these scenes became the most talking point of the film" says Dorababu.

RRR is one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema and has won several international awards along with the Golden Globe Awards this year in the US. Adding further, Dorababu says "A lot of research went into getting the effects right and we spent endless hours to get the VFX part. It feels so good when our hard work pays off and that too with a Rajamouli film".
