1. HUM DO HUMARE DO – Hum Do Humare Do generally refers to a couple and their two kids who help complete a family. Here is a hero in dire need of parents to have a happily ever after. Starring Rajkumar Rao and Kriti Sanon along with a fine ensemble of Paresh Rawal, Ratna Pathak Shah and Apaarshakti Khurana it’s a light-hearted film all about loving one's family. Anya and Dhruv are very much in love but can he fulfil the one condition she had for their marriage. Watch it on Disney plus Hotstar to find out.
2. DYBBUK –Remake of the Malayalam film Ezra, this one has Emraan Hashmi, Nikita Dutta and Manav Kaul playing the lead in the remake. From the trailer, the film carries a professional polish and just the right atmospherics to send a chill down our spine. A new job opportunity makes Sam (Emraan Hashmi) and Mahi (Nikita Dutta), an interfaith married couple to move from Mumbai to Mauritius. Struggling to get over her miscarriage, Mahi hopes to start afresh in the foreign land. However, things begin to go south after she purchases an antique box. 3. CALL MY AGENT: BOLLYWOOD – The Indian adaptation of the popular French series features Aahana Kumra, Ayush Mehra, Rajat Kapoor and Soni Razdan. Directed by Shaad Ali it follows our four dexterous, street smart talent agents as they navigate fragile star egos and real human emotions to save their agency from closure after the sudden death of the founder. With cameos by our favourite celebrities, this one promises to be a fun and perceptive watch. It’s on Netflix.
4. MARADONA: SUENO BENDITO – Inspired by the life and story of the legend Diego Maradona, Maradona: Blessed Dream is directed by Alejandro Aimetta and Edoardo DeAngelis and stars Nazareno Casero, Juan Palomino, Peter Lanzani and Julieta Cardinali. It looks at the early life and prolific career of Argentinean football legend Diego Maradona and promises to reveal little-known details about the turbulent life and times of the legendary player. Four different actors play Maradona at various stages of his life, and others appear as former players, coaches, agents and family. Chronicling his rise from humble origins on the outskirts of Buenos Aires to a global superstar who battled alcohol and drug addiction it mixes archive footage with dramatised scenes from his life over 10 one-hour episodes. Maradona: Blessed Dream is available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bengali apart from English on Amazon Prime Video.
5. THE MAD WOMAN’S BALL - Based on Victoria Mas’ novel Le Bal Des Folles, it’s a gut-wrenching story of a woman wrongfully institutionalized to a Paris asylum who manages to escape with assistance from a nurse. Directed by Mélanie Laurent it stars Lou de Laâge, Mélanie Laurent and Emmanuelle Bercot in the lead. Eugénie a wealthy rebellious young woman, is committed to the Salpêtrière against her will by her father who is concerned that his daughter occasionally talks to the dead. It paints a bleak picture of the brutality inflicted on women who did not surrender to authority and how in the name of treatment are used as lab rats and tortured. The Mad Woman’s Ball with its bittersweet ending boasts of Terrific performances and staggering attention to detail. it’s on Amazon Prime Video.
