OTTplay Awards 2023: Sobhita Dhulipala wins Best Actor (Female) – Series – Editor’s Choice award
The former Miss India won the trophy for her stellar performance in two hit web series: The Night Manager and Made in Heaven Season 2

The darling of the OTT space, Sobhita Dhulipala, has won the Best Actor Female – Series – Editor’s Choice for starring in two hit web series, The Night Manager and Made in Heaven Season 2. There was barely any contention while picking the former Miss India-turned-actor for the award, considering her stellar performance in both web series, which won her much applause.
Sobhita’s convincing portrayal of her characters and her phenomenal onscreen presence that will leave everyone watching with rapt attention have made her the favourite of many.
Receiving the award from filmmaker Onir, Sobhita said, "Thank you, editors. I have had the good fortune of working with some wonderful collaborators and filmmakers who have written female parts that are complicated yet empathetic and though they may or may not be 'right' but somehow, hopefully, are understood. I have had quite a few releases in the past few months and there's a certain diversity in those parts, and looking back, it makes me feel very inspired, very motivated and nourished that I have had a run like this. And this encouragement and this support means a lot, so, thank you very much."
She would also thank streaming platforms Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video for the collaborations.
Made in Heaven Season 2
Sobhita showed off her acting chops in the first season of Zoya Akhtar’s hit web series Made in Heaven back in 2019. She did not disappoint in the eagerly-awaited second season of the series that was released earlier this year wowing everyone with her portrayal of a no-nonsense wedding planner. Even though the second season has a stellar star cast consisting of Jim Sarbh, Arjun Mathur, Mona Singh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora, and Vijay Raaz, Sobhita shone in the series and made everyone take notice of her as Tara Khanna.
The Night Manager
The Hindi adaptation of the hit British series of the same name saw Sobhita sharing screen space with Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur. She plays Kaveri 'K' Dixit in the series, who is the girlfriend of Anil's character, Shailendra 'Shelly' Rungta. The mysterious character that she essayed may have come under some criticism, but she managed to win several hearts with her charming onscreen presence and flawless performance.
Of late, Sobhita has been in the news not just for her acting but also for her personal life. She’s been rumoured to be dating Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya who is Samantha’s former husband. Regardless of what goes on in her personal life, Sobhita, who was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s epic Ponniyin Selvan, gives her best to whatever roles she plays on screen and we simply cannot wait to see what she’s got in store next.

OTTplay Awards 2023
The OTTplay Awards 2023 took place at Taj Land's End in Bandra, Mumbai, on October 29, 2023. The event was attended by some of the most notable names in the OTT space. The ceremony was presented by Danube Properties alongside Dabur Chyawanprash and driven by Volkswagen. Colors Infinity is the telecast partner.
