Almost every film of the National Award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao has got him critical acclaim and rave reviews. It was the same with his two of his recent releases Guns & Gulabs and Monica O My Darling. The impact of his acting prowess is always so very impactful that, the audiences just cannot take their eyes off the screen. Tpday, he was awarded OTT Performer of the Year – Male at the prestigious OTTplay Awards 2023, which was held at a grand function in Mumbai today.
The impactful performances he exhibited in 'Guns & Gulabs’ and ‘Monica O My Darling’ explain why he was awarded. The glittery award ceremony - which took place at Taj Land’s End - was attended by the who’s who of the Indian film fraternity.

Besides Rajkummar Rao, ‘Guns & Gulabs’ also starred Dulquer Salmaan, Gulshan Devaiah, Adarsh Gourav, Sushil Kumar and Rajatava Dutta in important roles. The web series, which was streamed on Netflix, garnered an extremely encouraging response from everyone alike. And, as for ‘Monica O My Darling’, Rajkummar Rao was seen in the role of Jayant Arkhedkar aka Johnny. Besides him, the neo-noir crime comical thriller also starred Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte, Sikandar Kher, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Bagavathi Perumal in prominent roles.
Rajkummar Rao, who has always been synonymous with path breaking films, has been a part of many noted films like Bose: Dead/Alive, Shahid, Shaitan, Gangs of Wasseypur 2, Newton, Stree, Badhaai Do, HIT: The First Case, Talaash, Kai Po Che!, Dolly Ki Doli, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga and many others.

OTTplay Awards 2023 saw the who’s who of Indian cinema turning up at the event at Taj Land’s End on October 29. The only pan-Indian OTT awards show in the country honoured talents across languages – Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bangla – for their phenomenal work on OTT.
OTTplay Awards 2023 was presented by Danube Properties alongside Dabur Chyawanprash and driven by Volkswagen, with Colors Infinity being the telecast partner.
