After a year of successfully honouring the outstanding performers, filmmakers, and storytellers in the OTT space, the first pan-India OTT awards event is back. Kartik Aaryan won the Best Actor—Male category award for his exceptional performance in Freddy.
Kartik Aaryan era post-Bhool Bhulaiyaa
In 2022, Aaryan became the epitome of success in all its forms. At a recent award ceremony, the hearthrob won "Best Actor" after receiving praise for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2's success and surprising fans with a brand-new avatar as Freddy. Kartik became the talk of the town after his back-to-back releases like Shehzada and Satyaprem Ki Katha. However, it's Freddy that won him the prestigious accolade.

During the event, talking about bagging the award for Best Actor (male), Kartik said, "Freddy was a very important film for me. I would firstly like to thank my director, Shashanka Ghosh sir. He worked with me very patiently on this film. JU who kept on believing in this first. Third is Ekta Kapoor, who supported and produced the film. Freddy is a special film. It was the first time I played a grey character through the film. I was working in comic roles and doing romantic films for the longest time. Freddy was one film where I could play a different character. I am extremely thankful that the script came to me. Also, thanks to Alaya for being a supportive co-star. She is also getting a lot of awards for her performance in the film. I'm really happy for her and I'd like to thank RD, the film's lead turtle."

Freddy on Disney Plus Hotstar
Freddy, also starring Alaya F, is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Parveez Shaikh wrote the screenplay, which Shashanka Ghosh directed. Ektaa R. Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Jay Shewakramani, and Gaurav Bose produced the film. Freddy garnered unanimous love and praise from all over the world with the story, direction, and mainly the impeccable performance by Kartik.
About OTTplay Awards 2023
The OTTplay Awards 2023 took place at Taj Lands End in Mumbai on October 29, 2023. The event had celebrities like Anil Kapoor, Kajol, Sonakshi Sinha, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rajkummar Rao, Sobhita Dhulipala, Alaya F, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, and others in attendance.
Danube Properties and Dabur Chyawanprash presented the awards ceremony and driven by Volkswagen. Colors Infinity is the telecast partner of the OTTplay Awards 2023.
