Earlier today, aha and People Media Factory have announced that they would be coming up with a first-of-its-kind South India Film Festival. Yes, you heard it right. The festival is aimed to celebrate the grandeur of content across major South Indian languages - Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Film buffs were truly delighted to hear about the collaboration of two major brands for the fest.

Justifying film enthusiasts why the fest is truly ‘one of a kind’, the streaming platform wrote, “It’s not just about celebrating the classics, but also shining a spotlight on the visionary filmmakers of today!” They promise to bring together pathbreaking works in the world of South Indian entertainment in a festival packed with diverse content. Right in the announcement, the brands have indicated that the festival will have screenings of yesteryear classics as well, which is indeed a fine opportunity to introduce cinema of a different era to today’s audiences. Viewers are curious about the venue, timings and the schedule. In a phase when re-releases are thriving, films are going past language barriers, the timing of the fest couldn’t have been better.
