There have been so many web series that were released in 2024. But ETV Win's #90s is the most watched. Sivaji and Vashuki played the lead and Aditya Haasan was the director.
#90's
2024 has been a remarkable year for the Telugu OTT space, with several big shows, films, and talk shows streaming on various platforms globally. Numerous web series were released, but one of the most-watched shows on OTT in 2024 is #90s, a family drama now available for streaming on ETV Win.
Directed by Aditya Haasan, #90s stars Sivaji and Vasuki in the lead roles and blends emotional family drama with hilarious comedy. Initially, the show did not receive much attention, but a week after its release, positive word-of-mouth from viewers significantly boosted its popularity.
Now, #90s, described as a middle-class biopic, has become the most-watched series in the Telugu OTT space, surpassing just above 500 million streaming minutes on ETV Win. The portrayal of middle-class struggles resonated deeply with audiences. The child actors in key roles delivered exceptional performances, contributing to the show's massive success.
ETV Win, a relatively new platform, gained significant recognition thanks to #90s. The show’s success led to a surge in subscriptions, positioning ETV Win as one of the leading Telugu OTT platforms.
Director Aditya Haasan has since secured three feature films and is actively working on them. Sivaji, a popular actor who had been away from the spotlight, has revived his career and is now involved in nearly a dozen Tollywood projects. Vasuki, who portrayed the mother, is also busy with character roles in Telugu cinema.
The nostalgic elements of the show – school romance, strict parents, and the financial struggles of middle-class families – were beautifully captured by Aditya Haasan. Reports suggest that the script for the second season is ready, with production expected to begin in the second half of 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
