Oscars 2024 snubs – No award for Killers of The Flower Moon and Maestro, only one for Barbie

Fans of Barbie, Maestro and Killers of the Flower Moon were disappointed at the Oscars 2024.

The Oscar 2024 ceremony has concluded with most of the winners wrapping up their press statements. The glitzy ceremony held in the USA saw Oppenheimer bagging as many as seven accolades, and Emma Stone winning the Best Actress Award for her terrific performance in Poor Things. While the ceremony has concluded, social media platforms are still buzzing with the events of the morning as the 96th annual Academy Awards unfolded in Los Angeles, California.

Oscar 2024 snubs

Here are the unexpected snubs that took place at the event.

Killers of The Flower Moon won no award

Despite receiving 10 nominations, Killers of the Flower Moon and its renowned director, Martin Scorsese, missed out on the awards at the Oscars 2024. This marked director Martin Scorsese's third film to go 0-10 on Oscar night, following Gangs of New York (2002) and The Irishman (2019). Scorsese is widely regarded as one of the greatest directors of our time. And it is difficult to digest such an outcome, especially for the third consecutive time.

Maestro won no award

Maestro, Bradley Cooper's directorial, won no award at the prestigious ceremony despite being nominated in as many as seven categories.

Barbie just won one award despite being the highest-grosser globally in 2023

It is a well-established fact that Barbie was the highest-grossing film of 2023 which earned billions of dollars globally. Despite this, the fictional drama won only one award i.e. Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell won the Best Song award for Barbie's ‘What Was I Made For?’.
