So, the race to make it to the final list at the Oscars have now begun. The film makers all over are keeping their fingers and toes crossed and praying that their film should make the cut and be selected as India’s official entry at the prestigious Oscars.
Well, speaking of India’s official entry at the prestigious Oscars, readers may recall that, we gad reported about the Adah Sharma starrer superhit film ‘The Kerala Story’ Anant Mahadevan’s ‘The Storyteller’ (Hindi), Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Ghoomer’, Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ have been reported to be in the running to make it to the final cut. Well, the good news is that, we got some more names in the list who are also in the running for the Oscars. These names include Kapil Sharma starrer ‘Zwigato’ and the Karan Johar directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.

Karan Johar's film at the Oscars?
For the unversed, the Kapil Sharma starrer ‘Zwigato’ was about the various challenges faced by a man who works for a food delivery app. On the other hand, Karan Johar directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ starred the stunning pair of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The film not only got immense love from the masses and classes alike, but also went onto surpass the Rs. 100 crore collections at the box office.
Selection committee's decision
As per a source report in Hindustan Times, it has been reported that, the said selection committee has got around 22 entries from all across India. The final decision will be ultimately made by a jury that consists of as many as 17 members. The said jury is being headed by filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli.
The said news also stated that, the final list could just have the addition of films including ‘Baap Lyok’ (Marathi), Vaalvi (Marathi) and also ‘Ab Toh Sab Bhagwan Bharose’ (Hindi). Even though the selection committee has recived their applications, they are waiting for the fees.
