The upcoming film is directed by M Mohanan
After Kurukkan which was helmed by Jayalal Divakaran, Sreenivasan will once again share screen space with his son, Vineeth Sreenivasan, in M Mohanan’s upcoming film, Oru Jathi Oru Jaathakam. The film’s first-look poster was recently shared on the movie’s official social media pages.
According to reports, the film is set to roll from July 9, with the script being worked on by Rakesh Mantodi, who is known for Godha. He previously collaborated with Vineeth for the scripting of Thira.
Mohanan’s 2018 film Aravindhante Athidhikal which saw Vineeth and Sreenivasan in prominent roles, was a commercial success. The director’s previous hits include the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Manikyakkallu and the Sreenivasan-starrer Katha Parayumbol. The film also stars Aju Varghese, Nikhila Vimal, Babu Antony, Isha Talwar and Mridul Nair, who directed Asif Ali’s B.Tech.
Along with them, many new faces are lined up for significant roles in the upcoming movie. Varnachithra Production House, owned by Maha Subair, is producing the upcoming project, which will be majorly shot in Kannur and Kochi. The technical department of the film comprises Viswajith Odukkathil as cinematographer and Ranjan Abraham as editor, while Gunasekaran Balasubhramanyam is composing the songs penned by Manu Manjith.
Meanwhile, Vineeth’s upcoming directorial venture is said to revolve around the life story of his father. In this yet-to-be-titled project, Vineeth will collaborate with Nivin Pauly, Pranav Mohanlal and his brother Dhyan. Vineeth has also been involved in several recent projects such as Mukundan Unni Associates, Thankam, Pookkaalam and Corona Papers.
His performance in Thankam as a helpless young gold carrier and in Mukundan Unni Associates as a remorseless lawyer garnered a lot of attention recently. His upcoming projects include Kurukkan in which he will act alongside his father. The poster of the film was unveiled last month. It features Vineeth as a police officer. The movie also stars Shruthi Jayan, Sudheer Karamana, Malavika Menon, Ansiba Hassan, Gowri Nanda, Azeez Nedumangad, Srikanth Murali and Balaji Sharma. Jibu Jacob has shot the film, with Unni Elayaraja scoring the music and Ranjan Abraham in charge of editing.
