The filmmaker was understandably enthusiastic at the trailer launch event of Ori Devuda held in Hyderabad
Filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu’s career was off to a great start with the success of Oh My Kadavule, the fantasy rom-com starring Ashok Selvan, Ritika Singh and Vani Bhojan. He was naturally the first choice to helm its Telugu remake, Ori Devuda too, which was announced back in 2020. However, nearly two years into its making, Ori Devuda will finally see the light of the day on October 21.
The trailer launch of the film starring Vishwak Sen, Mithila Palkar and Asha Bhat, was held at AMB Cinemas, Hyderabad on Friday. At the event, an enthusiastic Ashwath, received with a loud cheer, said, “I really want to thank PVP sir for bringing me from Chennai to direct a Telugu film. It was always my dream to direct a Telugu film and I dedicate this to all Telugu families out here.”
“My ex was a Telugu girl too and I wanted to make this for her but we broke up by the time the film was over. So, it’s only right that I dedicate this to the audience who’re there for me. I am sure you’ll love Vishwak in it - he’s been a friend, brother to me during the making. The film will be a blockbuster for him and he’s done a phenomenal job,” he asserted.
He also credited the other actors Mithila (addressing her as Potti noodles) and Asha Bhat (cast as Meera akka) and said that audiences will fall in love with all the characters in the film. “I have so much to tell about the film and will tell it when the time is right. Thank you all my ADs; Venkatesh Kakumanu is going to be a great actor after this film. You’ll enjoy his performance.”
Ashwath confirmed that Anirudh Ravichander has sung a number in the film and hinted about Vishwak Sen crooning for the title song. “The film is going to be a repeat watch with your friends, family and others. Just like how you enjoyed the trailer, everybody will take something out of Ori Devuda. That’s my promise.” Venkatesh, Rahul Ramakrishna, Murli Sharma also essay key roles in the film.
